Benin: HAAC Grants Conventions to 13 Media Outlets

The High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication (HAAC) proceeded, this Wednesday, April 2, 2025, with the signing of conventions with thirteen Beninese media outlets. The institution’s headquarters hosted this ceremony in the presence of the HAAC president, Edouard C. Loko, advisors, and officials from the concerned organizations. Among the media outlets that received authorization are Radio Adja-Ouèrè FM Ouémé, FM Bio Guerra, Blue Diamond TV, Idadu FM, La Voix de la Lama, Le Parakois, Matin Libre, Radio Maranatha, Radio communautaire Solidarité FM, Radio Mono FM la Voix des Rossignols, FM Tonignon, Nanto FM, and Radio Naane Ouassa FM.The HAAC president, Edouard C. Loko, praised the efforts of the promoters to comply with regulatory obligations. “I want to congratulate you. None of you benefited from special facilities. You overcame difficulties such as damaged transmitters, fallen pylons, and heavy financial burdens to regularize your situation,” he expressed. Regarding media outlets whose conventions have expired, Edouard C. Loko was clear: “By the end of June 2025, we will no longer tolerate any irregularities. Those who have not renewed their conventions must do so before that date. Regulation is essential for the balance of the media landscape.”Reverend Pastor Koumabé Bossoun, on behalf of all the beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude to the HAAC and its members. He reiterated the commitment of the signatory media outlets to respect the clauses of the conventions for a responsible press serving Beninese society.
