Africa: Algeria Gives 12 French Embassy Agents 48 Hours to Leave the Country.

Algerian authorities have ordered twelve agents from the French embassy to leave the country within 48 hours. The French Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, announced this decision on Monday, April 14, 2025, calling it a response to the arrest of three Algerian nationals in France. “I ask the Algerian authorities to renounce these expulsion measures, which are unrelated to the ongoing judicial procedure,” Jean-Noël Barrot said in a written statement sent to journalists. “If the decision to send back our agents is maintained, we will have no other choice but to respond immediately,” he added.
